Sling Media has updated its Mobile Player for Windows Mobile and Symbian-powered smartphones recently, adding numerous bug fixes and new icons for the favorite channels feature. Sling Media's Slingbox is a set-top box that allows users to access their Tivo or television from anywhere in the world over the internet.
The SlingPlayer Mobile update is for both Windows Mobile and Symbian-powered smartphones and uses either WiFi or a cellular data connection to stream video from the user's Slingbox to the handset, allowing them to watch real TV from anywhere in the world. The new SlingPlayer Mobile software costs $30 and is available for free to those that have already purchased a prior version.
The application can be found at the SlingPlayer Mobile website. A free trial is available.
